To Tony Hall, Director General of the BBC,

The BBC is currently promoting an interview, in which white women are described as “Karens” and told:

  • “educate” themselves,
  • “not to be defensive about your whiteness”,
  • “don’t be so loud”,
  • “get out of the way”, and
  • “basically, leave.”

We believe that approaching the important issue of race relations in this biased and simplistic way is irresponsible, counterproductive, and divisive.

We call on you to get the BBC to:

  • apologise for presenting such biased & divisive material as impartial
  • stop promoting this particular interview
  • make amends by recording & promoting further interviews that address the issue in a more balanced, sensitive, and non-divisive manner.

Sign our petition today, and help us stop the BBC being so divisive!
